ALBERT CUYP
–
At the request of the market traders at the Albert Cuyp Overtreders W designed an entrance gate for the outdoor market, one of Europe's biggest. The gate consists of 258 lanterns, every lantern depicting the goods sold at one market stall.
The merchandise was captured on the spot on light-sensitive paper: throughout the summer Hester van Dijk and Reinder Bakker spent every sunny hour on the market with their mobile sun print studio. The sun prints show every subtle detail of the products sold.
Ever since the gate was installed in the spring of 2016, it has been advertising the abundance of goods sold at the market to passers-by.
